Trash & Recycling Container Guidelines & Schedule

Dear Reston Station Neighbors,

We have received several complaints regarding neighbors not storing their trash and recycling containers in their respective garage after trash/recycling collection days.

 

Trash and recycling containers may be placed out no earlier than 7:00 PM on the evening prior to collection day and must be returned to your garage promptly after collection has occurred. Containers must be stored in your garage at all times except between 7:00 PM the evening before collection and the day of collection. All trash must be securely bagged and placed in the appropriate container.

 

Leaving containers out on a continuous basis is a violation of the HOA governing documents and creates an inconvenience for neighbors entering and exiting the alleyways and their garages.

 

Trash & Recycling Collection Schedule (Trash Away):

 

  • Trash: Tuesdays and Fridays

  • Recycling: Tuesdays

 

Bulk Pickup Information:

If you have oversized items to dispose of, please email info@trashaway.comwith your community’s name, your address, and photos of the items. Trash Away will confirm your pickup date, advise of any applicable fees, and provide additional details.

 

Quick Reminders:

  • Appliances, metal items, renovation materials, outdoor or patio furniture, and construction debris may incur additional fees.

  • Some bulk items may be included under your community’s contract—please contact Trash Away to confirm.

  • Bulk pickups must be scheduled by noon on the day prior to your community’s scheduled pickup day.
